Weekly Blog Entry- What do we do here at the rescue?

February 27th, 2019

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to start doing our weekly blog.  Since buying our own farm and saving so many horses last year, we have been strapped for time and I do need to be better about updating the webpage and allowing for a more inclusive way for people outside of social media to be updated about our activities.  So far, we need some volunteers to help around the farm to do some grooming, feeding, and helping with fencing!  Please contact me to sign up or to volunteer at the farm!.

We are also planning the following events:

***Horse Shows*** Many of our rescues have been working VERY hard to learn their new jobs!  We will be letting them show off their skills at a few local horse shows this year.  We will be at BAHA show in April, Woodford County Open Show in May, and the Oldham County Saddle Club show in Frankfort in June.  Please come and help support our mission at any of the shows!  We will also have a table set up at each show to spread the word about the importance of rescue and the good work we do.

***Open house*** - May 25th, 2019 located at the rescue, meet all of our wonderful rescued and sanctuary horses and sign up for our free riding lesson program!  We will be serving hot dogs, tacos, and we will be having a book signing with a children's book author who is also an amazing friend of the American Saddlebred!

***Sanctuary Barn Building*** As of today, no set date has been set for this activity.  We will buy materials when we have proper volunteer help to put it up.
